Welcome to Istanbul
Welcome to Istanbul,
where you will be met at the airport and transferred
to your hotel in the heart of the old city,
Sultanahmet. Tonight, meet your guide and the rest
of your group. Overnight Istanbul.

2.
Monday
23rd April |
Istanbul old city, twilight cruise
After breakfast, you enjoy a fully guided tour of
the only city to span two continents, visiting the
Blue Mosque, the Aya Sofya, Topkapi Palace, the
Underground Cistern and the Hippodrome. Tonight, an
evening you won't forget on the moonlight cruise
along the mighty Bosphorus, drinks for sale.
Overnight Istanbul. Breakfast.

DAY 3.
Tuesday 24th April |
|
Gallipoli battlefields tour
Depart for the Gallipoli peninsula early morning and
tour this now serene site. Visit Lone Pine
Australian Memorial and Chunuk Bair NewZealand
Memorial, ANZAC Cove and the Kaba Tepe Gallipoli
Museum. Straight after the tour we head for the site
of the dawn service to get a good spot. Tonight,
soak up the vibrant atmosphere under the stars
waiting for the break of dawn. Overnight at Dawn
Service. Breakfast and dinner Box. |

DAY 4.
Wednesday 25th April |
ANZAC Day at Gallipoli
Awake for the ANZAC Dawn Service and commemorate our
fallen forefathers on this special day. Also attend
the Australian &/or New Zealand Memorial services.
Overnight Kucukkuyu. Breakfast/lunchbox and dinner.

DAY 5.
Thursday 26th April |
Acropolis of Pergamum,
Kusadasi
Today we head south and on the way we enjoy a guided
tour of the magnificent acropolis of the ancient
city of Pergamum. Overnight Kusadasi. Breakfast and
dinner. |

DAY 6.
Friday 27th April |
Ephesus, Sirince
Stand in awe at the Roman technology once used on a
tour of the ancient city of Ephesus. Also visit the
former Greek village of Sirince, famous for it's
fruit wines, before a leather goods show. Turkey
produces some of the finest leather goods in the
world and many are made here before branding in
Italy. Overnight Kusadasi. Breakfast and dinner.

DAY 7.
Saturday 28th April |
|
Pamukkale, Hierapolis
Today we drive east for the calcium terraces of
Pamukkale (cotton castles). You also visit the
ruined city of Hierapolis, an ancient health spa
just above the calcium terraces. Overnight Pamukkale.

DAY 8. Sunday
29th April |
Saklikent Gorge, Fethiye
Heading for the Mediterranean coast, we stop at the
breath-taking Saklikent Gorge. Here you can tube
down the river and explore the awesome canyon.
Today, we also visit a carpet village and learn how
carpets are made by hand, what determines their
value and the historical and cultural context in
which this folk art has blossomed. Overnight Fethiye.

DAY 9. Monday 30th
April |
Fethiye boat cruise
Relax on a leisurely boat cruise around the
picturesque 12 islands of Fethiye. Overnight Fethiye.

DAY 10. Tuesday
1st May |
Termessos, Taurus Mountains
En-route to Antalya you visit the ancient Lykian
city of Termessos which was built at a height of
1050 meters in the beautiful Taurus Mountain range.

DAY 11. Wednesday
2nd May |
Konya, Obruk, Caravansaril
Leaving the Mediterranean coast we follow an ancient
Silk Road that once connected Europe and Asia. In
the religious capital of Turkey, Konya, you visit
the Mevlana Dervish Museum. We also stop at the
Caravansary at Sultanhani and the deep blue lake at
Obruk. Overnight Cappadocia. Breakfast and dinner.

DAY 12. Thursday 3rd
May |
Cappadocia, Goreme, Uchisar
castle
Amid the moonscapes of Cappadocia, you tour the
Goreme open-air museums, Pasabag and Uchisar castle.
Photo opportunities are everywhere so have your
cameras ready. Tonight, don't miss the optional
Turkish folklore evening featuring folk and belly
dancers… a night you won't forget! Overnight

4th May |
Ihlara Valley, Underground
city
After breakfast we visit Ilhara Valley and the
amazing Derinkuyu underground city, home to early
Christians who hid underground from Roman
persecution. Overnight Cappadocia. Breakfast and
dinner. |

DAY 14. Saturday
5th May |
Nation's Capital Ankara
Leaving the surreal landscape of Cappadocia behind,
we head for exotic Istanbul. In the nation's
capital, Ankara, visit the Mausoleum of Turkey's
first President, Ataturk, and also the ancient
Civilization's Museum. Overnight Istanbul.

6th May |
Bosphorous boat cruise, Istanbul
After breakfast, you take a morning cruise on the
Bosphorus passing by ancient forts and palaces. This
afternoon we bid farewell to our new friends.
